The Assistant Athletic Trainer collaborates with other members of Athletic Training Staff in the delivery of Athletic Training Services to CU student-athletes. Will report directly to the Director of Athletic Medicine.
Additional responsibility will include the athletic training staff in supervision of Intern athletic trainers; Attend practices and games of assigned contact sport(s) (home and away); Administrative oversight and home event/post-season coverage of assigned non-contact sport(s); Coordinate and maintain medical referrals and records from Athletic Training room visits; Maintain good standing with the NATA BOC and NE state licensure through continuing education units; work with Athletic Performance Staff to develop programs to aid in the prevention of injury; Serve as a preceptor for the University of Nebraska at Omaha Athletic Training Education Program under the supervision of the Program Director
Qualifications:
Master's Degree in related field;
Must be certified by the National Athletic Trainer's Association Board of Certification, eligible for Nebraska Athletic Trainer License

Basic computer proficiency/skills;
Ability to self-start, work independently
Strong interpersonal/human relations/supervisory skills in relationship to college students and working with the public;
Must be able to comply with policies and procedures of Creighton University Athletic Department, as well as, comply with all NCAA and Big East Conference rules and guidelines regarding medical aspects of sports;
Must be able to work effectively under pressure while maintaining a professional demeanor;
Ability to maintain confidentiality regarding sensitive matters;
Ability to support and endorse the academic program and the highest level of achievement for each student-athlete;
Serve as a positive ambassador of the athletic program
Ability to travel;
Ability to work evenings and weekends;
Required Licenses/Certifications:
Must be certified by the National Athletic Trainer's Association Board of Certification, eligible for Nebraska Athletic Trainer License
