Title: Assistant Athletic Trainer

Description : Hartwick College is excited to expand our Sports Medicine staff and hire a full-time Assistant Athletic Trainer to join our collaborative healthcare team. This 10-month position supports 21 NCAA Division III varsity programs, including football. This position is immediately hiring until position is filled.

This role is part of a collaborative Sports Medicine team that values continuity of care, shared clinical decision-making, and the opportunity to work with a variety of sport programs. Structured onboarding and mentoring are provided to support early-career athletic trainers and continued growth.

Hartwick Sports Medicine is committed to a collaborative, holistic, and student-centered model of care in which athletic trainers work closely with the Head Athletic Trainer, fellow Assistant Athletic Trainer, Occupational Therapist, team physicians, and campus health partners. The NCAA Division III environment at Hartwick fosters meaningful connections, allowing athletic trainers to practice in a relationship-centered setting where the student-athlete experience comes first.

Responsibilities :
The Assistant Athletic Trainer will collaborate within a comprehensive Sports Medicine team to deliver high-quality athletic training services that support the health, safety, performance, and overall well-being of Hartwick’s student-athletes. Responsibilities include: - Provide daily injury prevention, on-site evaluation, treatment, and rehabilitation of student-athletes - Provide emergency medical evaluation, care, and injury triage during practices, home contests, and selected away competitions - Work cooperatively with team physician(s), the Director of College Health Services, counseling and campus health providers, and coaching staff - Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation and required reports - Coordinate pre-participation physical examinations for all student-athletes - Communicate effectively with coaches and administrators regarding student-athlete status and participation - Assist with the supervision and education of student assistants and interns - Assist in maintaining inventory, ordering supplies, and supporting budget management for the athletic training department
