The University of the Cumberlands is seeking a full-time Assistant Athletic Trainer with sport responsibilities for: Men’s Soccer, Softball, and Men’s & Women’s Golf programs. Team care includes practice coverage for varsity teams, home event coverage for varsity & junior varsity events, and travel as arranged with coaches and the head athletic trainer. This position might include additional administrative responsibilities as assigned or requested by the Head Athletic Trainer.

Team care includes practice coverage for varsity teams, home event coverage for varsity & junior varsity events, and travel as arranged with coaches and the head athletic trainer. This position might include additional administrative responsibilities as assigned or requested by the Head Athletic Trainer.

PERKS OF JOB:

· On-campus clinic for general medical referrals

· Fleet of on campus vehicles for doctor’s appointments, imaging appointments, travel, etc.

· 10-month contract/9 weeks (about 2 months) of PTO per year

· Athletic training kit of choice provided, upon hire

· Staff size of 7 currently, with goal of 8 full time ATC, with physical therapist on staff 2-3 days weekly as well

· On campus orthopedic visits every other week Fall / every 2-3 weeks Spring

JOB CRITERIA :

· NATA Certified Athletic Trainer(Experience preferred - entry level eligible)

· Hold or eligible for Kentucky State Licensure

SPORT RESPONSIBILITIES :

· Sport assignments: As described

· Practice coverage for varsity teams, home event coverage for varsity & junior varsity

events, and travel as arranged with coaches

ADMINISTRATIVE RESPONSIBILITIES:

· Assist in supervision of undergraduate work study, First Aid Responders

· Schedule medical appointments and coordinate insurance claims with AT Dept. Administrative Assistant.

· Handle preparatory team paperwork yearly for preparticipation clearance.

· Assist with Summer Orientation Physicals for in-coming Freshman as Scheduled(Typically 1 week June/1 week July)

· Daily management of rehabilitation activities and practice preparation

· Administrative paperwork and Injury reporting for your teams (ATS-Keffer Development)

· Other responsibilities as assigned or requested by the Head Athletic Trainer
