Position Details
Eastern Washington University is currently seeking an Assistant Athletic Trainer. This position is housed in the athletic department and will report to the Assistant Athletic Director for Training Services. The Assistant Athletic Trainer supervises the care of student -athletes competing in the University’s Athletic program, working primarily with assigned football, while working with additional programs at the discretion of their supervisor. The Assistant Athletic Trainer is responsible for the prevention, evaluation, management and rehabilitation of injuries within the University’s comprehensive sports medicine program.On top of salary, the University offers a comprehensive benefits package including health insurance, life and disability insurance and retirement. Travel may be required a minimum of fifteen (15) nights per year for team competition. Applicants must be able to maintain a thorough knowledge of NCAA and institutional rules, regulations and policies. Rules compliance is an important responsibility of this position. Employee shall support and comply with all applicable rules and regulations of the NCAA, the Big Sky Conference, and other established bodies that govern intercollegiate athletics and the University. This position, during the course of university employment will be involved in the receipt of, or accountability for, university funds or other items of value; as well as the unsupervised access with the developmentally disabled, vulnerable adults or children under the age of 16. The offer of employment is contingent upon successful completion and passing of a background check prior to beginning employment. MMR Requirement: All new employees must comply with EWU Immunization Policy 602-02 and provide proof of immunity or vaccination to MMR before beginning work at EWU.
