Position Function

Perform duties as assigned with the health care program and as directed by the Head Athletic Trainer.

Minimum Education

Bachelor’s degree by date of appointment from an accredited college or university; NATA certification; Indiana Athletic Trainer State License or eligible for licensure.

Minimum Experience

At least two years of related experience.

Minimum Other

Authorization to work in the US

Candidates for searches must have current authorization to be employed in the U.S. without employer sponsorship.

Preferred Education

Master’s degree from an accredited college or university.

Preferred Experience

At least three years of related experience; at least one year of related experience within a football program.

Preferred Other

Pre-Employment Screening

Requires successful completion of a background check and education verification.

Duties & Responsibilities

Ranking

Job Duty

Make recommendations for the coordination the day-to-day operations of the health care program for Intercollegiate Athletics.

Job Duty

Serve as the athletic trainer and have direct supervision for one or more sports, as necessary on a daily basis, as assigned by the Head Athletic Trainer.

Evaluate injuries and make physician referral decisions for assigned sports.

Design and implement, in coordination with the team physician, all rehabilitation and therapeutic programs for assigned sports.

Work in conjunction with other members of the training staff, to supervise the athletic training graduate assistants; supervise students in the athletic training major.

Provide athletic training services to assigned sport, including travel and coverage for home/away events.
