The University of Maryland Eastern Shore invites resumes for a full-time, twelve month, exempt, contractual position with limited benefits. The contractual Assistant Athletic Trainer, under guidance of the Head Athletic Trainer, the Assistant Athletic Trainer, and the physicians will be responsible for determining the wellness and ability of the student-athlete to return to participation. Salary is commensurate with experience and qualifications.
Provide first aid, injury assessment, treatment, prevention, and rehabilitation to all student athletes and administer basic and prudent first aid to visiting student-athletes upon request.
Apply appropriate taping, wrapping or protective equipment to ensure safe athletic participation.
Work with the Head Athletic Trainer and the Assistant Athletic Trainer in the day to day work within the Athletic Training Room.
Provide on-site treatments and rehabilitation programs for injured student athletes.
Maintain accurate and current records of athletic injuries and treatments rendered.
Assist the Athletic Training Staff and the Sports Performance Staff in developing rehabilitation programs for injured student athletes.
Maintain a clean, functioning, and orderly athletic training facility.
Maintain continuing education units for certification/licensure.
Collaborate with the
UMES
Health Center for medical concerns.
Maintain current Maryland State licensure by the Maryland board of Physicians.
Maintain current National Athletic Trainer Association/Board of Certification Licensure.
Performs other related duties as assigned.
