Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required
• Master's degree preferred.
• Candidates must be fully certified as an Athletic Trainer by the BOC
• Must become state licensed by the Louisiana State Board of Medical Examiners prior to start date
• Experience at the college level preferred

Job Concepts

ASSIGNED SPORT

• Coverage of all games and practices.
• Treatment and rehabilitation of injuries
• Completing necessary documentation, not limited to injury reports, referrals, medical history, drug testing, and travel with the assigned sport. ATHLETIC TRAINER DUTIES
• Assist Head Athletic Trainer with daily operation of athletic training room.
• Supervision of students, treatment of athletes, necessary documentation ADMINISTRATIVE DUTIES
• Supervise the physician visits to the athletic training room.
• Notification of athlete as to time and day of visit
• Taking notes, assisting with physician visits, and informing Sports Medicine staff and appropriate coaching staff regarding results of the visit
• Other duties as assigned by the Head Athletic Trainer
