Brief Summary of Job Description

The Assistant Athletic Trainer will work closely with the Director of Athletics in the overall leadership of an

NCAA

Division II program. This individual will assist in planning, developing, implementing, communicating and administering the goals of this position in order to help fulfill University and Department objectives. Exhibiting behavior that enhances the respect for student-athletes, the athletics program, the University, and yourself in the conduct of your professional responsibilities will be expected. This individual is required to assist in the direction and control of athletics in accordance with

, and University rules and regulations. Violation of

NCAA

, Conference or University rules on the part of Athletic Department personnel may result in disciplinary action up to and including termination of employment. Assist Head Athletic Trainer with all aspects of the Athletic Training Room Operation.

Job Duties

Assist Head Athletic Trainer with all aspects of the Athletic Training Room Operation including but not limited to: educating and demonstrating proper injury preventative techniques, injury treatment and rehabilitation to student athletes, tracking of inventory, ensuring all athletes have proper medical history paperwork and physicals on file, assist with doctor’s visits in the athletic training room, completing claim forms for student athletes, inventory of athletic training room supplies. Primary sport responsibilities for volleyball and softball. Supervise graduate athletic training room students.

Required Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree in Kinesiology and Sports Sciences or related field,

BOC

Certified Athletic Trainer, Ability to be licensed in the state of Nebraska;

Preferred Qualifications

Master’s Degree, 1-2 years of experience at an Intercollegiate Athletic Institution

Physical Demands

Schedule

40-60 hours, nights and weekends
