Help develop and implement an overall Athletic Training program which includes and is not limited to: injury prevention programs, injury evaluations, injury management, injury treatment and rehabilitation, recording of athletic injuries, coordinating care and referral of athletes with other allied health professionals, dealing with insurance issues, and educational programs and counseling for student-athletes.
Provide Athletic Training services (prevention, treatment, evaluation, rehabilitation, and recording of athletic injuries, coordinating care of athletes with other allied health professionals, dealing with insurance issues, and communicating with coaches, parents and athletes- these services are to be provided for all team practices, training sessions, and games) as Men’s and Women’s Tennis Athletic Trainer.
Provide referrals to student athletes to team physicians and other allied health professionals including, but not limited to: sports nutrition, massage therapy, physical therapy, mental wellness, and chiropractic medicine.
Supervise and support the Athletic Training Staff in the clinical supervision of Student Athletic Trainers and Interns for assigned to Men’s and Women’s Tennis.
Assist with Head FB

the host services for home football games.
Assist with Football practice coverage as needed if there are no Tennis scheduled practice or match conflicts.
Ensure consistent communication and follow up of student-athletes well-being to Athletic Department administrators and team physicians.
Meet with your mentor, Patrick Jenkins/Head FB

, on a regular basis to review any issues, progression towards goals, and overall performance.
Assist with staff and doctors, the development and implementation of policies in relation to the care of our student athletes
Coordinate physical examinations, sickle cell testing, and medical referrals for assigned student-athletes to determine their ability to practice and compete.
Assist the staff in coverage, cleaning, inventory, and supervision of the Athletic Training facilities.
Compile injury and treatment statistics for program for assigned sports
Evaluate and recommend new techniques and equipment that would enhance the benefit of the sports medicine program.
Maintain Athletic Training Certification and State Licensure by attending educational courses, seminars, home study courses approved by the National Athletic Training Association
Liaison with Big 12 and
NCAA
to coordinate coverage services when hosting conference or
NCAA
events
Work in collaboration with the strength and conditioning, nutrition, wellness, and Applied Health and Performance Science staffs to ensure safety in the design and implementation of fitness, nutrition, preventative programs and conditioning programs customized to meet individual student-athlete needs.
Help and support the clinical and didactic education of the University’s
CAATE
approved Athletic Training Education Program students and Graduate staff and participate as an
ACI
.
Aid the
ATEP
in the recruitment and selection of Student Athletic Trainers
Bachelor’s degree required and Master’s degree preferred in an appropriate area of specialization
Certified by the National Athletic Trainers’ Association Board of Certification (
NATABOC
)
Eligible for a Utah State Athletic Training Licensure (www.dopl.utah.gov)
Familiarity with
NCAA
governing rules
Two years of athletic training experience post Bachelor’s degree recommended
Experience covering Tennis as a Certified Athletic Trainer preferred
