This position will serve while abiding by and complying with the constitution, by-laws, rules, regulations and interpretations of the NCAA, any conference with which Coastal Carolina is or may become affiliated, and Coastal Carolina rules and regulations relating to the conduct and administration of its athletic programs, including recruiting rules, as now constituted or as any of the same may be amended during the Term herein. In the event the employee becomes aware, or has reasonable cause to believe, that violations of such constitution, by-laws, interpretations, rules or regulations may have taken place, they shall report the same promptly to the direct supervisor or designee.

Duties include, but are not limited to:
Performs duties of athletic trainer consistent with regulations of national certification board (BOC) and the South Carolina Athletic Trainer Practice Act under the supervision and guidance of the Athletic Medical Director and/or Team Physician. Employee must maintain and provide proof of appropriate BOC certification, South Carolina Athletic Training Licensure, and CPR certification
Works under the professional supervision of the Athletic Medical Director, performs evaluations and assigns appropriate treatment protocols to injuries and/or illnesses related to student-athlete participation in Coastal Carolina University Intercollegiate Athletics Program to include return to play decisions as guided by medical professionals.
Assists with the coordination of activities in assigned athletic training room facilities and coverage of assigned practice and competitions including travel when deemed appropriate and/or necessary.
Coordinates referrals to appropriate medical professionals as necessary and assist with processing of insurance claims as directed.
Assists with oversight and supervision of resident athletic training staff, student athletic training staff, and any assigned intern athletic training staff.
Required : Bachelor’s degree; BOC Certification or eligible; SC AT Licensure or eligible.
Preferred: Master’s degree; minimum of 2 or more years of experience working as athletic trainer (can include time as Graduate Assistant, Intern, Fellow, or Resident).
