Simpson College seeks qualified candidates for a Full Time - Assistant Athletic Trainer. This position reports directly to the Director of Athletics and will lead and manage the day-to-day operations for the sports medicine department, emphasizing:
Assist with the coordination and supervision of all aspects of a comprehensive sports medicine program for all student athletes and intercollegiate athletic programs
Collaborate with Sports Performance staff on injury prevention and post injury rehabilitation
Provide proper evaluation, treatment, and rehabilitation of athletically injured student athletes
Maintain medical records on student athletes that include physical examinations, insurance information, and injury evaluation reports
Coverage of scheduled team practices and events, which may include travel w assigned teams
Assist with the daily maintenance of the athletic training room
Qualifications
Required Skills
Strong written, interpersonal, and oral communication skills
Ability to work with a diverse student and staff population
Strong organization and time management skills
Must possess knowledge of current standards and practice in athletic training while following the NATA Code of Ethics
Master’s and/or Bachelors degree in Athletic Training required. NATA-BOC certified. ARC or AHA Professional Rescuer eligible.
The successful candidate will also have the ability to work as a team member as well as independently.
