Job Description

St. Thomas Aquinas College is seeking a qualified and motivated full time, 10 month, Assistant Athletic Trainer to support the health, safety, and performance of student-athletes participating in intercollegiate athletic programs. Reporting to the Manager, Sports Medicine, the Assistant Athletic Trainer plays a key role in injury prevention, evaluation, treatment, rehabilitation, and athlete education.

This position may be assigned primary team responsibilities during two of the three athletic seasons and support general athletic training room operations during the third season.

Responsibilities include but not limited to the following:

  • Provide athletic training coverage for scheduled home practices and intercollegiate contests
  • Attend away contests as determined by the Manager, Sports Medicine
  • Work collaboratively with team physicians regarding:

    • Physician and hospital referrals
    • Treatment and rehabilitation of injured athletes
    • Return-to-play decisions
  • Administer first aid and emergency care to injured athletes

  • Evaluate, document, and maintain accurate records of athletic injuries and treatments
