Job Summary
Recreation Services at CU Boulder encourages applications for an Assistant Athletic Trainer position! This is a 10-month appointment, engaged annually from August 1st to May 31st with Jun and July off.
This role collaborates with the Head Athletic Trainer for Recreation Services on planning and implementing risk management strategies, fiscal oversight, developing policies and procedures, staff hiring, training, and development. This position also works independently with limited oversight, and communicates with appropriate internal and external partners, while providing program oversight to ensure compliance and operational success. The Assistant Athletic Trainer will also assist the Head Athletic Trainer with the overall direction and management of the Recreation Injury Care Center (RICC) to provide first aid, injury prevention, injury evaluation, treatment, rehabilitation, referrals, and assessment. Under the direction of the Head Athletic Trainer, this position will be responsible for providing medical coverage for home sport club events, typically Friday-Sunday, and collaboration with CU Sports Medicine and Medical services to align resources to better serve students. Additionally, this role will supervise student staff and interns, and must be available for occasional Sport Club travel as team needs and budget allows. It is necessary for this position to be available for a variable work schedule that includes nights, weekends, holidays, and extended hours depending upon needs of the Recreation Center.

Throughout these facilities, members of the CU community can engage with a variety of programs that include ice skating, indoor rock climbing, intramural and club sports, yoga, aquatics and so much more.
