Description of Work

Perform a variety of duties involved in the administration, evaluation, treatment, care, and rehabilitation of student-athletes within the University of Nebraska Athletic Department. The focus of responsibilities will be with the sport of Women’s Swimming & Diving team, including practice and meet coverage, and any required travel. Adherence to all

NCAA

, conference, and institutional rules and regulations will be required. Additional sport coverage if necessary, as determined by the Associate AD of Athletic Medicine. The selected candidate will have a demonstrated commitment to diversity and inclusion. Required travel with the team will involve working long hours, nights, weekends, and some holidays.

Minimum Required Qualifications

Professional degree (Bachelor’s or Master’s) in Athletic Training from a

CAATE

accredited program and 1 year of experience in diverse, athletic training environments. Strong desire for individual and collaborative growth. Effective communication skills.

NATA

certification and ability to obtain Nebraska State licensure required. Emergency response certification (

CPR

, basic life support) required. Must have a valid driver’s license and meet University driver eligibility requirements.

Preferred Qualifications

1 year or more experience as full-time, certified athletic trainer within

NCAA

. Previous experience providing treatment and rehabilitation of injuries to student athletes in an

NCAA

D-1 Swim & Dive program. Additional continuing education certification (

CES

,

PES

, etc.) preferred.
