| Advertised Job Summary |
The Assistant Athletics Director for Compliance Services serves as a member of the Office of Compliance Services (OCS). Works in conjunction with OCS staff to implement NCAA, SEC, and University of South Carolina (USC) regulations. Responsible for direct oversight of the day-to-day OCS operations and several staff members. Responsible for ensuring all monitoring and education systems are effectively implemented as well certifying all systems ensure compliance with NCAA, SEC, and USC regulations. This position provides interpretative assistance to coaches, administrators, student-athletes, and representatives of the university and develops and/or implements rules education curriculum to provide effective updates on relevant legislation for administrators, student-athletes, and representatives of the university. Additionally, this position is expected to represent OCS at selected department and university events and meetings.

Requires a bachelor’s degree and 2 or more years of experience, which may be substituted by an equivalent combination of certification, training, education, and/or experience.

Thorough knowledge of NCAA rules and regulations and necessary compliance procedures, as well as Microsoft Office, NCAA Compliance Assistant, and ARMS software. Strong problem-solving and trouble-shooting skills, written and verbal communication skills, ability to work with diverse campus and community constituencies. Possess high ethical standards and display integrity at all times. Display appropriate conflict resolution behavior and take a positive attitude and constructive approach to all tasks. Ability to work with confidential information in a high-pressure environment and to apply NCAA, SEC and institutional regulations accurately. Able to gather and process large amounts of information, prioritize tasks and responsibilities effectively and under tight deadlines. Ability to manage time, tasks, and multiple staff members and develop and execute departmental procedures effectively and efficiently.

Serve as the individual charged with overseeing the day-to-day operations of the Office of Compliance Services. Oversee individuals responsible for the implementation and execution of all monitoring systems ensuring compliance with NCAA, SEC, and USC regulations. Supervise individuals responsible for implementing a comprehensive educational program relative to NCAA, SEC, and University of South Carolina rules and regulations. Supervise individuals responsible for tracking and administering Athletics financial aid and student housing.
