Louisiana Tech University is seeking candidates for an Assistant Athletics Director for Athletics Broadcasting. This is a full-time, 12-month position with benefits and reports to the Senior Associate Athletics Director for External Affairs/CBO.
Duties and responsibilities:
-Leads a team responsible for the broadcasting operations for live athletic events on the Louisiana Tech campus.
-Directs and produces quality live, high-definition video webcasts via the required distribution platform. Serves as liaison on to the ESPN Networks and other conference broadcast partners, production companies, other technology providers, and campus video directors to coordinate television broadcasts, video streaming, web and social media video efforts, and gameday stadium/arena production.
-Directs all video content on the video displays in athletic displays to promote an exciting and interactive gameday environment.
-Develops a visionary, creative and effective video communications unit that works collaboratively with other members of the external operations team to deliver sound gameday content.
-Works with external operations team and the Learfield/LA Tech Sports Properties General Manager (and/or designee) to ensure sponsorship elements are fulfilled.
-Produces feature video content for use as needed.

-Researches and assesses new video and graphic methods and technology and makes recommendations for new equipment, modifications, or process enhancements as appropriate.
-Hires, schedules and supervises student workers to assist in the broadcast technology unit. Performs other duties as assigned.
Essential Competencies:
-Knowledge of applicable strategies for video communications in intercollegiate athletics.
-Knowledge of professional standards and trends related to the area of responsibility.
-Skill in the use of production and recording equipment.
-Skill in using computer applications including operating systems, Microsoft Office Suite, graphic design, animation, video editing and production software.
-Organizational skills in managing projects simultaneously while maintaining a satisfactory work product. Ability to work In all phases and roles of video production.
-Ability to communicate effectively in both oral and written form.
-Ability to set priority and complete assignments on time.
-Ability to work successfully as a member of a team and independently with general supervision.
-Ability to maintain effective interpersonal relationships.
-Ability to maintain currency of knowledge and skills, including adapting to changes in technology and software related to area of responsibility.
-Ability to work evenings, nights, weekends and holidays as necessary.
Direct Oversight Responsibility: 2 FTE position and a team of student workers.
Qualifications include:
-Bachelor's degree in communications, radio/television production, cinematography, marketing, public relations, sport management /marketing/administration or related field required.
-Master's degree preferred.
-At least two years of experience working in a similar capacity is required.
