The Assistant Athletics Director for Compliance is responsible for organization and administration of the Athletics Department’s National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) compliance program. The Assistant Athletic Director for Compliance certifies eligibility and processes financial aid for student-athletes, monitors coaches’ activities relative to rules compliance, and interacts with departmental staff members and coaches to ensure compliance with NCAA rules and regulations.
Monitor all S-A eligibility and financial aid to ensure compliance with all NCAA, Conference, and Institutional rules and regulations.
Maintain and oversee all S-A information files including, but not limited to: Grant-in-aids, National letter of Intent, NCAA and Conference eligibility lists, Student Athlete biographical information, required permission forms (NCAA, drug testing, etc.), academic records, recruiting records.
Serve as liaison between the Athletics Department and the offices of the Admissions, Registrar, and Financial Aid.
Maintain a calendar of dates and reports that must be sent to the NCAA and/or Conference and monitor compliance.
Plan, develop, and implement programs of in-service training, staff development and rules-education for institutional administrators, athletics staff, coaches, S-As and boosters. Communicate internal and external compliance rules to employees.
Investigates all Possible Alleged Violations of NCAA Bylaws. Responsible for reporting all secondary violations. Also, investigate areas of noncompliance within the University.
Communicate with the President, Director of Athletics, SWA and Faculty Athletics Representative all compliance concerns including alleged Level I and II violations.
Monitor and maintain all compliance records within ARMS/TEAMWORKS involving the Athletics Department and all Student Athlete records as dictated by current legislation.
Coordinate all routine compliance requests through the conference and/or NCAA offices.
Coordinate the timely development and appropriate approvals of all required reports/documents including data collection when needed.
Serve as a Title IX Deputy Coordinator.
Keep the President, Chief Compliance Officer, Director of Athletics, SWA and Faculty Athletics Representative current with all matters relative to the institution’s compliance with conference and NCAA rules and regulations.
Support the educational mission of the University and the professional obligation to enhance intercollegiate athletics by providing opportunities to educate students interested in this field. Provide broad based and specific experience to students through internship opportunities and student worker positions.
Be committed to the compliance process and assist with rules-education.
Serve as an ambassador of the University and its Athletics Department to all public entities.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree
Three (3) years’ experience in intercollegiate athletics
Preferred Qualifications
Master’s Degree or JD
Knowledge of NCAA rules, regulations, processes, interpretations, appeals and governance structure, demonstrated commitment to institutional control.
Proficiency in NCAA software (e.g. CAi, LSDBi, Transfer Portal, Eligibility Center); compliance software (e.g. ARMS/TEAMWORKS); university databases, and other computer applications.

Schedule
Generally, the normal work hours for the university are Monday through Thursday, 7:30 – 5:30 pm; Friday, 8:00 am – 12:00 pm with a one-hour lunch. The individual holding this position may need to be available early morning, evening, and on weekends to meet the needs of the department. Hours worked may differ with some departments.
