Primary Function: Direct, develop, and oversee the institution’s comprehensive athletics compliance program
Oversee and ensure departmental compliance with all NCAA, conference, and institutional rules and policies.
Be knowledgeable and current with all applicable NCAA, conference, and departmental rules and regulations. Provide written updates and interpretations of current, new, and proposed NCAA/conference rules and regulations.
Develop and implement systems and procedures to ensure compliance and monitoring of all NCAA and conference rules.
Develop and coordinate pro-active a comprehensive rules education program for prospective student-athletes, enrolled student-athletes, coaches, faculty, staff, boosters, and other university constituents.
Identify and investigate potential NCAA and/or Lone Star Conference rules violations in accordance with departmental and university policy and report them accordingly.
Coordinate student-athlete eligibility certification in conjunction with the Faculty Athletics Representative Office of the Registrar and communicate eligibility information to the appropriate coaches.
Work with the Office of Financial Aid to monitor sport financial aid limitations and departmental scholarship budgets.
Coordinate the preparation and submission of Eligibility Lists and Financial Aid Forms as required by the NCAA and Lone Star Conference.
Provide information for and/or prepare reports for documentation submitted TO the NCAA and conference to include, but not limited to waivers, violations, revenue distribution, sport sponsorship and demographics, equity in athletics disclosure act, and APR/graduation rates.
Disseminate important compliance related information/materials from the department, conference, and NCAA to necessary staff members
Participate in ongoing professional development by attending conference compliance meetings, NCAA Regional Rules Seminars and/or NAAC conferences.
Other duties as assigned by the Director of Athletics
