Assistant Athletics Director for Marketing and Community Engagement
Job Summary:
The Director of Marketing & Community Engagement will support the Associate Athletic Director of Revenue Generation and Fan Engagement in the development and execution of a comprehensive marketing plan for the Department of Intercollegiate Athletics. This position will promote the Tulsa brand in an effort to increase attendance, generate revenue and coordinate further outreach in the Tulsa Community.

The Director of Marketing & Community Engagement will support the Associate Athletic Director of Revenue Generation and Fan Engagement in the development and execution of a comprehensive marketing plan for the Department of Intercollegiate Athletics. This position will promote the Tulsa brand in an effort to increase attendance, generate revenue and coordinate further outreach in the Tulsa Community.
Essential Functions (Responsibilities):
Marketing:
The Director will be primarily responsible for the development and implementation of marketing plans for men’s and women’s basketball and select Olympic sports as assigned.
Creation of promotional plans to drive attendance and fan engagement at events.
Establish effective on-campus marketing efforts aimed at increasing student attendance.
Develop and maintain strong student internship program.
Coordinate with Director of Ticket Sales on promotional nights that drive attendance.
Coordinate with Director of Fan Experience to make sure promotional themes are executed on a game-to-game and seasonal basis.
Community Engagement:
Cultivate relationships community partners to identify effective engagement opportunities in the Tulsa community that will correlate with their increased participation at athletic events.
Create Comprehensive strategy to increase brand awareness throughout the Tulsa community by participating in outreach opportunities.
Cultivate relationships with campus partners to identify effective engagement opportunities based around athletic events as well as collaborate to create mutually beneficial programming.
Required Qualifications:
Equivalent Education/Experience
Bachelor’s degree in marketing, advertising, sports administration, or related field
At least two years of athletic marketing experience in collegiate and/or professional athletics required
Knowledge/Skill/Ability
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple projects effectively Possess a strong working knowledge of social media Photoshop and desktop publishing skills.
