Anderson University Athletics and Department for Sports Information invites applications for a full-time, 12-month, Assistant Athletic Director (AD) for Sports Information. Anderson University is an innovative, entrepreneurial, premier comprehensive Christian liberal arts university affiliated with the South Carolina Baptist Convention. Reporting to the Associate Athletic Director for Sports Information, the Assistant AD for Sports Information plays a key role in promoting and enhancing the visibility of Anderson University Athletics through strategic communications, media relations, digital content, and game-day operations. This position coordinates interactions between the Athletics Department and local, regional, and national media; assists with media interviews; and develops engaging content that highlights student-athletes, coaches, and athletic programs. Responsibilities include maintaining athletic website content, supporting webcasts and FloSports productions, creating game programs and promotional materials, managing statistics and event communications, and assisting with social media content and graphics. The Assistant Sports Information Director also supports game-day operations, coordinates event staffing, promotes student-athletes for awards and recognition, maintains historical records, and collaborates closely with coaches, administrators, athletic trainers, and student-athletes. This position requires flexibility to work evenings, weekends, in support of athletic events and departmental activities.
Knowledge equivalent to that gained through a bachelor’s degree, preferably in journalism, communications or related field, along with a minimum of two years of relevant professional experience is required. Prior experience in a college or university environment is preferred, as is familiarity with Presto, NCAA Live Stats, and Adobe Creative Suite. Strong written and verbal communication skills, with a keen attention to detail, and exceptional organizational abilities are required. An understanding of NCAA Division II and South Atlantic Conference rules and regulations and ability to maintain confidentiality, collaborate effectively with a variety of stakeholders, and demonstrated commitment to Anderson University's Christian mission is essential.
