The position involves producing and publicizing a variety of written, verbal and video communication, coordinating efforts with media outlets, maintaining program records and managing game-day operations. Flexibility to travel and work nights and weekends is required as well as the ability to work on short deadlines and multitask.

Key Responsibilities/Essential Job Functions:
1. Media Relations (35%) - Serve as a primary contact for all media inquiries regarding HPU Athletics Department sponsored sports - Write and distribute press releases and featured stories aimed at promoting HPU Athletics - Produce and distribute media guides - Develop and maintain HPU Athletics website - Coordinate broadcasting initiatives and media appearances between the media outlets and the members of HPU Athletics staff and/or student-athletes. - Explore and coordinate efforts in new media technologies/opportunities such as, but not limited to, audio/video streaming, social media distribution, etc. - Organize press conferences and facilitating interviews with the members of HPU Athletics staff or student-athletes. - Develop and implement effective media outreach strategies
2. Game Day Operations (45%) - Capture accurate statistical records at every home contest for official NCAA and Pacific West Conference purposes and ensure immediate distribution of this information to the public. - Recruit, train, assign and supervise student statisticians - Update game statistics information on HPU Athletics website and media guides. - Ensure provision of appropriate public announcements and game environment information at home contests. - Produce game programs and scripts. - Ensure that game sites have broadcasting and sports information capabilities
3. Support Operations of the HPU Athletics Department (15%) - Organize and maintain a system of historical files, reference materials, statistics, results, and records for the HPU Athletics programs. - Produce game contracts for all 12 sports programs - Fundraise to support maintenance of HPU athletics website - Perform other related duties as assigned
4. Performs other related duties as assigned (5%)
