Title: Assistant Athletic Trainer
Occupational Summary
This position will be under the supervision of the Executive Director of Duke Athletic Medicine and is a 12-month position. The Assistant Athletics Trainer will manage the care of the student-athletes of Duke University participating in NCAA Division I sports and report to the Executive Director of Athletic Medicine. Main sport focus will be with Rowing. Additional sport/duties will be determined by the Executive Director of Athletic Medicine.

· Educate and counsel student-athletes regarding injury prevention, treatment, rehabilitation, and overall health and wellness.
· Maintain accurate and timely medical documentation in accordance with departmental, institutional, NCAA, and legal standards.
· Participate in event and practice coverage as assigned.
· Perform additional duties as assigned by the Executive Director of Athletic Medicine.

Required Qualifications
· Master's degree in Athletic Training from a CAATE-accredited program.
· Board of Certification (BOC) certification and certification maintained in good standing.
· Eligible for North Carolina athletic trainer licensure or currently licensed in North Carolina prior to employment.
· Minimum of three years of experience providing athletic training services to NCAA student-athletes.
o Athletic training experience with Rowing preferred.
· Knowledge of NCAA rules and regulations.
· Understanding of contemporary sports medicine principles, including rehabilitation, return-to-play decision-making, and sports science technologies.
· Strong interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills.

Anticipated Pay Range: Duke University provides an annual base salary range for this position as USD $45,661.00 to USD $73,140.00.
