This position will be under the supervision of the Executive Director of Duke Athletic Medicine and is a 12-month position. The Assistant Athletics Trainer will manage the care of the student-athletes of Duke University participating in NCAA Division I sports and report to the Executive Director of Athletic Medicine. Main sport focus will be with Rowing. Additional sport/duties will be determined by the Executive Director of Athletic Medicine.

Essential Functions

· Provide prevention, evaluation, treatment, and rehabilitation of athletic injuries and illnesses.

· Coordinate medical care for assigned student-athletes in collaboration with team physicians and the sports medicine team.

· Communicate effectively with physicians, coaches, student-athletes, parents/guardians, and other members of the interdisciplinary care team.

· Educate and counsel student-athletes regarding injury prevention, treatment, rehabilitation, and overall health and wellness.

· Maintain accurate and timely medical documentation in accordance with departmental, institutional, NCAA, and legal standards.
