Job Description

The Assistant Baseball Coach will ensure compliance with NCAA, conference and college rules and regulations and assist the head coach and other members of the program and department as needed. This role will also coordinate recruitment of position player, assist with position players development. They will also assist with budget management, facility maintenance, and complete assigned administrative tasks.

Job Duties

1. On field coaching: Help direct the on field, cages and in classroom instruction of the position(s) required by head coach. Be willing to provide feedback for aspects outside of main positional responsibilities.
2. Recruiting: Serve as recruiting coordinator for position players. Demonstrate ability and willingness to recruit students to Davidson. Determine which recruiting events the baseball staff should attend to identify possible prospects. Serve as point person in recruiting database
3. Administrative (budget, etc.): Work with head coach to assist with home and away game logistics. Assist with equipment and technology needs for program.
4. Compliance: Ensure compliance by coaching staff, players, and recruits with NCAA, Conference, and Davidson College athletics regulations, policies, and overall mission of amateurism.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university.
• 3 years or more of coaching experience at the collegiate level is preferred.
• Demonstrated excellence in coaching
• Knowledge of NCAA rules and intercollegiate athletics.
• Ability to communicate effectively with all team members and staff within Davidson Athletics.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Excellent administrative and organizational skills including the ability to prioritize and complete tasks by established deadlines.
• Ability to represent the program in a professional, positive and energetic manner.
• Position may require a valid driver's license for occasional driving.
