Vincennes University’s Athletics department is seeking applications for an Assistant Baseball Coach. This is a part-time position with no benefits responsible for all aspects of working with the head baseball coach to administer the baseball team according to institutional, regional and national NJCAA guidelines.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Assisting with the planning and supervision of baseball practices. Must be able to throw quality batting practice.

• Assisting with the planning and supervision of baseball practices. Must be able to throw quality batting practice..

• Assisting in the organization and overseeing all aspects of conditioning.

• Identifying and recruiting quality athletes who can be successful academically.

• Motivating and retaining current student athletes.

• Checking student’s grades on a regular basis and making arrangements for tutor assistance and/or study tables as needed.

• Driving school vans to and from scheduled baseball events.

• Conducting approved fund-raising activities to enhance the resources and exposure of the baseball program. This may include developing fall, winter, and summer camp programs.

• Ability to travel, work a flexible schedule including possible evenings, weekends, and overnight stays

Required and Preferred Qualifications

• Previous collegiate coaching experience.

• Bachelor’s degree.

• Familiarity with NJCAA Rules and Regulations.

• Must be able to throw batting practice.

• Must be able to hit a fungo.

• First Aid and CPR Training preferred.
