The Assistant Coach reports directly to the Head Coach and Director of Athletics, aligning with the SIUE Principles Governing Athletics. This position plays a crucial role in advancing the goals and objectives of the athletics program. The Assistant Coach supports various facets of team management, including player development, recruitment, travel coordination, fundraising, and other responsibilities as directed by the Head Coach or Athletics Director. Compliance with University, Conference, and NCAA Division I rules is paramount, alongside fostering cooperative relationships within the department.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Player Development and Coaching:
    • Develops individual players' skills, addressing physical, mental, and position-specific needs.
    • Monitors and evaluates player development, designing practice techniques to enhance fundamental skills.
    • Collaborates with athletic trainers and strength coaches to create tailored drills and exercises.
  2. Recruitment and Scouting:
    • Scouts potential talent at games and tournaments to assess skills and suitability for the team.
