Reporting to the Head Baseball Coach, the Assistant Coach/Recruiting Coordinator performs all duties necessary to support a nationally competitive DI program in the Big South Conference.
Teaches fundamentals, skill development and position techniques to student-athletes.
Oversees the recruiting process, including identification of highly skilled prospects through video and nationwide travel.
Works closely with athletic trainers, academic and student services, compliance, and athletic performance staff to monitor the overall the progress/wellbeing of student-athletes.
Assists with operations, including team travel, equipment, scheduling and budget.
Helps plan and participates in fundraising opportunities, alumni events and community service activities.
Bachelor’s degree and at least five years of baseball coaching experience at the collegiate, high school and/or club level.
Collegiate playing experience; recruiting experience; experience counseling and advising student-athletes; experience with Adobe products and
ARMS
or similar recruiting software; and proficiency with Microsoft Office.
Expert knowledge of baseball, including offensive and defensive strategies, and coaching techniques. Working knowledge of
NCAA
and Big South Conference rules and regulations and the ability to apply them. Exceptional organizational, communication, leadership and interpersonal skills. Ability to demonstrate and teach sport-specific skills. Ability to maintain high ethical and moral standards, cultivate an encouraging and inclusive environment, and inspire and motivate student athletes academically, athletically and professionally. Ability to work a flexible schedule and
travel as needed.
