KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Reporting to theHead Coach and the Director of Athletics, the assistant coach will discharge the following responsibilities:

• Conducts recruitment of student-athletes in accordance with NCAA rules through scouting, attendingtournaments, and possible home visits.
• Oversees and coordinates one or more specified areas of a sporting discipline and/or provides technical support and training to student-athletes, as appropriate to the sport.
• Perform miscellaneous athletic coaching job-related duties, as assigned.
• May perform administrative duties including maintaining equipment, monitoring budgets, initiatingcorrespondence and in planning and arranging team travel.
• Attend all required staff meetings.
• Assist with the academic monitoring of student-athletes.
• Demonstrate a commitment to maintaining compliance with NCAA, SUNYAC and Fredonia rules and regulations.
• Participate in committees and provide service to the Department, University, and Profession.
• Be aware of, understand, and follow all university policies.

Requirements:

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor's Degree from an accredited institution of higher education
• Demonstrated record of successful participation, coaching and recruiting in the sport
• Demonstrated high level of motivation with strong interpersonal skills
• Demonstrated willingness and ability, to travel and work a flexible schedule
• Demonstrated ability to supervise staff and work with student employees
• Demonstrated commitment to diversity and the needs of diverse faculty, staff, students, and the university community
• Willingness to work collaboratively with colleagues for program growth and enhancement
• Possess current CPR/AED and First Aid Certification or ability to immediately obtain
• Valid state driver's license and clean driving record
• Demonstrated commitment to the university, division, and profession.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Master's Degree
• Prior experience at the Division III level

Additional Information:

This is a part-time, ten-month, term-appointed, position. The start date will be negotiated with the final candidate.
