The Office of Accessibility a unit that reports to the Office of the Provost is looking for an
Assistant Coach of Adaptive Athletics
or Programs supports the daily operations of the Adaptive Athletics program and contribute to coaching activities.

Assists in the planning, development, and direction of all team training and conditioning activities.
Assists in preparation and implementation of scouting reports, game for the Adaptive Athletics.
Assists with the wheelchair basketball operations under the supervision of the Head Coach.
Coordinates team travel, room reservations (on and off campus), and meals.
Provides instruction in technique and safety procedures in adherence with
NWBA
regulations.
Serves as game day manager. Assists with all event responsibilities including set up and take down and overseeing events. Initiates contact with all visiting athletic teams to identify game-day needs. Coordinates the set up and take down for home Adaptive Athletics events.
Implements and organizes Adaptive Athletics student athlete services. Partners with campus community and coaching staff in providing academic services for student athletes.

Education : Bachelor’s Degree.
Focus of Education: Sport Management, Kinesiology, Physical Education, Exercise Science, Therapeutic Recreation, Disability, or related fields.
Years of Experience: 2 years.
Focus of Experience: Experience coaching wheelchair sports or other adapted athletics.
Experience working with athletes with disabilities.

- Organizational skills to plan and execute adaptive sports events, including logistics, scheduling, and participant management.
- Familiarity with the rules and regulations governing adapted athletics, such as those set by Paralympic committees or other relevant bodies.
- Advanced knowledge of building relationships with disability advocacy groups, schools, community centers, and other stakeholders involved in adaptive sports.
