Assistant Coach, Baseball

The assistant baseball coach will support all aspects of the baseball program. This includes recruiting, player development, practice and game preparation, and other daily operations. This position will work collaboratively with the head coach to provide a transformational experience for students in the baseball program.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

1. Recruiting and evaluating prospective student athletes.
2. Player development, specifically on the offensive side.
3. Mentoring our student athletes in a Christ like way.
4. Daily administrative tasks.
5. Field maintenance.
6. Running strength and conditioning sessions.

Ensuring our practice environment is safe with the necessary precautions and safety equipment in place.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required

1. A lifestyle in agreement with the ONU Statement of Mission, Faith, and Lifestyle Covenant.
2. College baseball playing experience.
3. High school coaching experience.
4. College coaching experience preferred.

Additional Information

EDUCATION
Bachelor’s degree required, master’s degree preferred.

WORK ENVIRONMENT
This position will have a mix of working in the office located on campus in Bourbonnais, IL, but also out on the baseball field regularly. This position will also require travel for games and recruitment.

SUPPLEMENTAL INFORMATION
The annual salary for this position is $33,000.
