POSITION SUMMARY: Stanford University seeks a qualified individual for the Assistant Coach for Beach Volleyball. The Assistant Coach is responsible for assisting with the administration of a highly competitive Division I Womenʼs Beach Volleyball program. The Coach is responsible for collaboratively operating all aspects of the program within the rules of the Pac-12 Conference and NCAA, as well as all institutional policies. Position reports directly to the Head Coach for Beach Volleyball and will collaborate with other sport-specific personnel. Essential duties include player development and team management, recruiting, budget management, equipment/apparel management, and alumni/friends of the program relationship management. Position has the ability to run camps and clinics consistent with institutional and NCAA regulations.

SUMMARY of ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

  • Plan and organize team and individual training and practice sessions, within NCAA regulations, with respect and recognition of high-level academic demands of student-athletes, and in collaboration with Head Coach.
  • Assist with the identification of and recruit top student-athletes to compete at Stanford within context of applicable NCAA regulations and University admission expectations. 
  • Assist with leadership and instruction in the personal and athletic development of student-athletes, including overall team management in areas such as academic, disciplinary, and personal matters when appropriate.
  • Assist with development and implementation of strategies for motivating student-athletes to perform at highest levels for individual and team success.
  • Work with the head coach to develop game strategies, game plans, and scouting reports for opponents.
  • Participate in overall Department of Athletics education and activities, such as regular coaches meetings and compliance education sessions.
  • Participate in alumni relations, fundraising activities, and other program communication and relation-management as appropriate.
