The Athletics department at East Carolina University is hiring a part-time assistant coach for the all-girl cheerleading teams. The primary and most important responsibility of a coach is instructing student-athletes. Reporting directly to the Head Cheerleading Coach, the individual serving in this position is responsible for, but not limited to, the following duties:

Cheerleading Program as directed by the Head Coach.
ECU
Cheerleading All-Girl team. This includes instruction for effective practices, assisting in choreographing cheers, dances, proper stunting and safety techniques and movements, cheer performance routines and crowd involvement methods for All-Girl team.
Assist with team tryouts coordination including try-out routine and tumbling/stunt instruction
Assistant coach will be expected to be at all practices, football games, basketball games and competitions
Perform administrative/management needs on daily basis related to cheer and mascots as directed by the Head Coach. This can include, but is not limited to, budget management, appearance scheduling, travel coordination, scholarship administration, letter awards, student development, web page information, uniform and equipment inventory, game day involvement, comp tickets and annual fundraiser as approved for cheer/dance teams.
Build quality relationships and work collaboratively and professionally with Pirate Club, athletics, and University staff, students, business vendors and all donors and stakeholders.
Abide by all written policies and procedures of
ECU
, the Department of Athletics, The Educational Foundation (Pirate Club), the National Collegiate Athletic Association (
NCAA
), and all applicable conferences or associations.
Evening and weekend availability is essential.
Strong communication skills are essential.
Bachelor’s degree and college cheerleading experience required.
Qualifying degrees must be received from appropriately accredited institutions and conferred by the time of hire.
License or Certification Required by Statute or Regulation
None
AACCA
Certification,
CPR
and First Aid Certification preferred.
Basing and Backspotting Stunt experience preferred.
