Position Summary

The Department of Athletics is searching for an Assistant Men’s and Women’s Track and Field Coach (Jumps and Combined Events). Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

• Manage all aspects of the Jumps and Combined Events for the track and field team including identifying and recruiting qualified student athletes.
• Assist in monitoring student-athlete academic progress.
• Interact with proper grounds/event management personnel pertaining to issues with practice area upkeep, equipment maintenance and competition areas.
• Assist in aspects of implement purchasing.
• Other duties as assigned.

Required Degree

Bachelors

Minimum Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree and multiple years’ experience coaching highly skilled jumpers of both genders.
• Ability to recruit and select highly skilled student-athletes.
• Strong interpersonal skills in dealing with prospective student-athletes.
• Must display a commitment to adhere to all the polices, rules and regulations of MSU, the Big Ten Conference and the NCAA.

Desired Qualifications

• Strength and conditioning certification.
