Faulkner University is seeking a qualified individual to serve as Assistant Football Coach. The assistant coach will analyze performance and instruct student athletes in game strategies and techniques to prepare them for athletic competition; observe players while they perform to determine need for individual or team improvement; and coach players individually or in groups, demonstrating techniques. This individual will assist in establishing and executing a team philosophy centered on growing young men spiritually, physically, intellectually, and professionally. Faulkner University is an NAIA Division I member, and is competing in the Mid-South Athletic Conference. Faulkner University is a Christian university affiliated with the churches of Christ.

This is a full-time (40+ hours per week), 10-month position.

_ Summary of Duties: _

• Responsible for working within the basic framework and philosophy of the head coach
• Assist in coaching and teaching sport to student athletes
• Plan, organize, and conduct practice sessions as directed
• Supervise and conduct workouts in season and off-season
• Maintain discipline and exemplify the university's goals and objectives
• Work closely with faculty to ensure academic progress toward graduation of student athletes
• Promote and prepare for summer/off-season camps and clinics
• Assist with recruiting of student athletes; prepare and plan recruiting visits

_ Qualifications: _

• Bachelor's degree required
• Minimum three years of related experience required
• Coaching experience at the college level preferred
• Ability to work frequent evening and weekend hours, and travel
• Active member of the church of Christ
