The Assistant Coach, Football is a 10.5 month full-time position that reports to the Head Coach, Football. Tyler Junior College (TJC) employs highly motivated individuals who thrive in a dynamic environment. Essential Functions and Duties

• Assisting the head football coach in coaching the intercollegiate football team in a highly competitive NJCAA division I athletic program.
• Recruiting of student-athletes.
• Giving academic support and counseling to student-athletes.
• Assist in placement of student-athletes to four-year institutions.
• Assisting as needed drug education, counseling and testing.
• Other duties as assigned by the head coach or athletic director.

Qualifications

Required Education/Experience

• Bachelor’s degree.

Preferred Education/Experience

• Three to five years’ experience in a comparable position desired.
• College work experience preferred.

• Perform other duties as assigned.
• Will have contact – in person, by email, or by phone – with staff, students, and the general public.

Travel

Must have and maintain a current valid Texas driver’s license and an acceptable driving record
