Assistant Coach – Football, Special Teams Coordinator (COACH AST 3)

Job Summary

Under the direction of the Head Coach, serve as the Assistant Football Coach and assist the Head Coach in all duties assigned relative to an NCAA Football Championship Subdivision (FCS) program. Assist with all aspects of coaching and team management. Assist in the conduct of pre-season, regular season and permissible out of season practices and training programs. Travel to away games and teaches those strategies that are related to football at the collegiate level of competition. Assist with the recruitment of prospective students for participation in intercollegiate athletic program.

• Knowledge of the rules and playing strategies of football. This includes, but is not limited to, teaching techniques, coaching strategies and safety measures that are necessary for the UC Davis student-athlete to compete at the collegiate level.
• Skills to express ideas clearly, concisely, and logically, both verbally and in writing.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience as a collegiate football coach. 
• Ability to learn the complex policies and procedures regarding academic eligibility of UC Davis student-athletes. These include UC Davis, conference and National Collegiate Athletic Association policies and procedures. Knowledge of campus, conference, and NCAA rules and regulations.
