Position Description

  • The Assistant Coach / Associate Head Coach - Offensive Coordinator is responsible for supporting all aspects of building a competitive NCAA Division III football program that advances the mission of intercollegiate athletics and the University.
  • The assistant coach assists the head coach in student recruitment and retention; coaches student athletes and fosters their skill development; assists in coaching plans and implementation at practices and competitions; provides for students’ safety, health and well-being; complies with NCAA, UMAC and university policies; provides sound fiscal management; assists in equipment oversight, scheduling, travel planning, and summer camps; assists in off-season programs and athlete development; and assists in program communication and fundraising efforts with the Head Coach.
  • The assistant coach will work with the head football coach to build a shared vision, work collaboratively with the Office of Admissions, build and retain a diverse and talented team, foster good sportsmanship and a climate of respect, and provide an environment that supports students in achieving their athletic, academic and life goals.
  • This is a full time 10-month annually renewable coaching appointment. Job title and competitive salary are negotiable with experience and a record of success. The position carries excellent fringe benefits.

Essential knowledge, skills and abilities: A Bachelor’s degree and participation at the collegiate level is required. A Master's degree and coaching experience are preferred. The position requires excellent organization, oral/written communication skills, and the demonstrated ability to work effectively with students, faculty and staff from diverse backgrounds to build diverse, inclusive, successful teams. The successful candidate will demonstrate an appreciation for NCAA DIII, be self-directed and motivated, have success in recruiting and retaining student athletes, work with integrity, and bring skills and abilities needed to help advance the program.
