Washington Athletics has an outstanding opportunity for an Assistant Coach for Men's Soccer.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
• Assist with coaching duties at daily practices. Assist with instruction and coaching of scout team in game plan preparations. Assist with the recruitment of athletes while on campus. Oversee day of game including working officials, gate list, pre-game meal, visiting team practice and field set up.
• Report scores to ICA Athletic Communications, local papers, TV and radio stations. Answer requests for information. Edit and review all video tapes of practice and matches with head coach.
• Coordinate and cooperate with Student-Athlete Academic Services to ensure eligibility and to encourage academic progress of each student in the program.
• Help coordinate travel including meals, lodging, room and seating arrangements and transportation.
• Make initial contact with all schools about scheduling for following year and future years. Assist head coach with promotions work.
Compliance with the rules and regulations of the University, the NCAA, the Conference, the State of Washington and any other governing body is of paramount importance to the University. The overall responsibility of this position is for the successful operation of the program in full compliance with all such rules and regulations. As a condition of employment, the Employee shall be required to participate in rules education programs offered by the Department of Intercollegiate Athletics.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
Bachelor’s degree and coaching experience with highly skilled players. Collegiate or professional playing experience preferred. USSF ‘A” coaching license preferred.
Equivalent education/experience will substitute for all minimum qualifications except when there are legal requirements, such as a license/certification/registration.
