This position is responsible for assisting the Head Coach with the coordination and operation of the women’s indoor volleyball program. This position is also responsible for assisting with recruiting quality student-athletes; monitoring academic performance; maintaining compliance with NCAA, ASUN, and university rules, regulations, policies, procedures, and processes; and performing all other duties as assigned.

Description

This position is responsible for assisting the Head Coach with the coordination and operation of the women’s indoor volleyball program. This position is also responsible for assisting with recruiting quality student-athletes; monitoring academic performance; maintaining compliance with NCAA, ASUN, and university rules, regulations, policies, procedures, and processes; and performing all other duties as assigned.

Essential Job Duties

• Assist the head coach with coaching the team;
• Maintain compliance with all NCAA, ASUN, and university rules, regulations, policies, procedures, and processes;
• Foster and maintain positive student body and faculty relations with student-athletes;
• Assist with coaching in a coordinated and planned program of practices and competition;
• Recruit quality, academically and athletically qualified student-athletes;
• Monitor academic performance and counsel student-athletes relative to academic success, progress, and eligibility, in cooperation with other divisional compliance staff;
• Participate in public and alumni relations and promotions activities as needed;
• Assist with cultivating and soliciting donors, as needed;
• Perform all other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree is required;
• Coaching experience (collegiate/club) is preferred;
• NCAA collegiate volleyball coaching/playing experience is preferred;
• Experience training at the collegiate level is preferred;
• Recruiting experience in the Southeast preferred;
• Knowledge of Atlantic Sun Conference (ASUN) preferred.

LICENSES, CERTIFICATIONS, OR REGISTRATIONS:
CPR certification required.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES: - Ability to effectively coach student-athletes while maintaining concern for health and welfare, physical and psychological preparation; - Ability to foster and maintain positive, effective relationships with student-athletes, coaching staff, administrators, faculty, staff, parents, and the public; - Organizational skills; - Ability to interact effectively – both verbally and in written format – with a diverse group of student-athletes, staff, faculty, administrators, parents, and the public; - Ability to demonstrate respect for and skills to engage with those of other cultures or backgrounds; - Knowledge of and the ability to maintain compliance with NCAA, ASUN, and university rules, regulations, policies, procedures, and processes; - Knowledge of NCAA rules and regulations governing recruitment, eligibility, and related functions; - Ability to operate a PC and standard software programs as related to employment and position-specific activities; - Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with other divisional staff, coaches, and administrators.
