Overview

The Assistant Coach will assist the Head Coach with directing, supervising and implementing the duties and functions of the men's lacrosse program.

Qualifications

Education :

-High School Diploma or GED or equivalent. Preferred

Experience :

-Demonstrated expertise in men's lacrosse. Required

-Prior coaching experience at the high school or college level. Preferred

Abilities and Skills:

-Ability to provide instruction, training, and motivation necessary for the athletes to compete to the best of their ability. Required

-Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in written form. Required

-Must possess a current driver's license. Required

-Developed organizational skills. Required

-Ability to work within the parameters established by the Head Coach and within the responsibilities as defined in the position description. required

Responsibilities

Essential Functions:

-Be responsible for being thoroughly familiar and complying with all College, United East Conference (UEC) and National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) policies and procedures.

-Assist in coaching the necessary skills, techniques and physical conditioning sufficient to enable each athlete to compete in the men's lacrosse program safely and to the best of his abilities.

-Be responsible for assisting with the on-site supervision during all practice and game situations.

-Exhibit a high level of expertise in lacrosse; seek self-improvement when possible.

-May be responsible for driving a College vehicle to and from sporting events, as needed.

-Assume Head Coach responsibilities in the short-term absence of the Head Coach.

-Assist in the recruiting of prospective student athletes.

-Assist with Academic meetings, monitoring and study hall hours of student-athletes.

-Assist with community service and leadership development programs.

-Participate in Alumni engagement efforts.

-Work Game Day operations during Fall and winter seasons when not with lacrosse.

Hourly rate $12.00.
