Adhere to the highest standards of academic integrity and work in compliance with all University, NCAA and MAAC Conference rules and regulations
Coach student-athletes during team practices as well as home and away contests
Assist the head coach with daily/weekly/seasonal practice planning, game-day preparations and scouting
Assist the head coach with player development efforts
Direct and oversee recruiting efforts of the staff for both on and off campus recruiting
Communicate via email and other methods in a professional and efficient manner to assist in recruiting efforts and relationship building with community partners both on and off campus
Demonstrate a commitment to the student-athlete, passion for the game and the ability to coach and motivate
Support efforts related to scheduling, film, travel, budget administration, alumni/community relations and team promotion
Other duties as assigned
Bachelor's degree required
Master's degree preferred
Experience may substitute for some of the above education requirements
Basketball Expertise:
Demonstrate proficiency in both playing and coaching basketball at a high level, with a strong understanding of the game's intricacies and strategies
Film Analysis Proficiency:
Possess experience and proficiency in the breakdown and editing of game film, utilizing advanced techniques to identify key insights and strategic opportunities for improvement
Effective Communication Skills
: Exhibit exceptional oral and written communication abilities, enabling seamless interaction with diverse stakeholders such as current and prospective student-athletes, parents, University officials, alumni, and community members
Stakeholder Engagement:
Proven track record of engaging effectively with a wide array of stakeholders, fostering strong relationships and partnerships to support the goals and objectives of the basketball program
Microsoft Office Proficiency:
Display proficiency in Microsoft Office suite, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, to effectively manage administrative tasks, data analysis, and presentation needs within the program
Demonstrated ability to work with diverse populations and a commitment to diversity and inclusion
