The Assistant Men’s Basketball Coach supports the Head Coach in all aspects of operating a competitive collegiate basketball program. This position contributes to student-athlete development, recruitment, practice planning, game strategy, and program administration while ensuring compliance with NCAA , conference, and institutional regulations. The Assistant Coach plays a vital role in fostering academic success, athletic performance, and personal development of student-athletes.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in planning and conducting practices, workouts, and skill development sessions. 
  • Provide instruction on individual and team basketball techniques, strategies, and conditioning. 
  • Support game preparation, including scouting reports and film analysis. 
  • Contribute to in-game coaching, adjustments, and decision-making. 
  • Identify, evaluate, and recruit prospective student-athletes in alignment with program goals. 
  • Maintain communication with recruits, high school coaches, and recruiting networks.
  • Assist with organizing campus visits and recruitment events.
