The Assistant Men’s Basketball Coach supports the Head Coach in all aspects of operating a competitive collegiate basketball program. This position contributes to student-athlete development, recruitment, practice planning, game strategy, and program administration while ensuring compliance with NCAA , conference, and institutional regulations. The Assistant Coach plays a vital role in fostering academic success, athletic performance, and personal development of student-athletes.

Responsibilities

• Assist in planning and conducting practices, workouts, and skill development sessions. 
• Provide instruction on individual and team basketball techniques, strategies, and conditioning. 
• Support game preparation, including scouting reports and film analysis. 
• Contribute to in-game coaching, adjustments, and decision-making. 
• Identify, evaluate, and recruit prospective student-athletes in alignment with program goals. 
• Maintain communication with recruits, high school coaches, and recruiting networks.
• Assist with organizing campus visits and recruitment events.

• Ensure all recruiting activities comply with NCAA and conference regulations. 
• Promote academic success, personal development, and well-being of student-athletes.
• Assist with scheduling practices, games, and team travel logistics. 
• Support equipment management and coordination of team needs. 
• Help organize camps, clinics, and community outreach initiatives. 
• Maintain accurate records, reports, and compliance documentation. 
• Ensure adherence to NCAA, conference, and University policies and procedures.
• Participate in compliance education and required training sessions. 

Education

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution. 
• Prior coaching or playing experience in basketball at the high school, collegiate, or professional level. 
• Knowledge of basketball rules, strategies, and player development techniques. 
• Must be able to lift 10 pounds.
• Ability to work evenings, weekends, and travel as required.
