Head Men's Basketball Coach
Assists the Head Men’s Basketball Coach with all phases of a competitive intercollegiate basketball program. Understands the role of
NCAA
and Division
III
athletics in the educational process and supports the Athletic Department in creating a positive environment for student-athletes. Demonstrates the ability to promote the physical, intellectual, and social growth and well-being of student-athletes. Assists the Head Coach in recruiting quality student-athletes, who embody the values of Elmhurst University and represent it well in all contexts.
Assists the Head Men’s Basketball Coach with all phases of a competitive Division
III
program.
Coordinates with the Assistant Director of Athletics to ensure all student-athletes meet applicable eligibility requirements and prepares all necessary documents for participation in a timely manner.
Assists in tracking academic progress of Men’s basketball student-athletes.
Assists in the development and execution of practice and game plans.
Satisfactorily passes the
NCAA
Division
III
Coaches Certification test.
Assists in recruiting and assigned an area from which to produce commitments to the institution.
Assists in conducting and directing instructional camps/clinics for youth and potential recruits.
Collaborates with the Director of Athletic Communications to provide program information and statistics to media and fans via various platforms.
Assists in the development of and actively participates in a plan to enhance public relations for the Men’s Basketball Program.
Assists in program and department fundraising and community engagement and service initiatives.
Maintains positive public relations with the community through assorted, visible acts of volunteerism.
Attends and participates in all athletic staff meetings as determined by the Director of Athletics.
Endorses and supports other areas within the Division of Student Affairs staff including attendance of meetings and service on committees.
Endorses and supports other sports within the Athletic Department and other duties as outlined by the Director of Athletics.

. Staff members must cooperate with and furnish the
NCAA

CCIW
and/or Elmhurst University with truthful and complete information concerning involvement in or knowledge of rules violations. Any person who is found in violation of
NCAA
regulations shall be subject to disciplinary or correction actions a set forth in the provisions of the
NCAA
enforcement procedures, including suspension without pay or termination of employment for significant or repeated violations.

Performs other duties as assigned.
Bachelor’s Degree.
Prior successful high school or college coaching/recruiting experience; preferably at the Division
III
level; with a familiarity of the
CCIW
and greater Chicagoland area.
Strong background in all aspects of basketball.
Strong leadership skills.
Strong communication skills, both oral and written.
Sense of organization and self-motivation.
Strong recruiting abilities, with a commitment to academic excellence.
High level of integrity.
Strong public relations and promotional skills.
Knowledge of
NCAA
rules and regulations.
Employee is subject to both indoor and outdoor environmental conditions (temperatures varying from below 32 degrees to over 90 degrees) for periods of over one hour, subject to hazards such as proximity to moving parts, electrical current, etc., and involves heavy work exerting up to 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or in excess of 50 pounds frequently, and/or up to 20 pounds of force constantly in order to move objects. Must be able to climb stairs and ladders and lift 50 pounds. Must be willing to nights and weekends, as required.
