ABOUT POMONA COLLEGE AND PITZER COLLEGE: Pomona College and Pitzer College are members of the Claremont Colleges, a consortium of five undergraduate institutions and two graduate institutions in Claremont, CA. The 21 varsity Pomona-Pitzer Athletic teams comprise of students from both colleges, and compete in the Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SCIAC) and the NCAA Division III.

POSITION SUMMARY: Responsibilities include assisting the head coach with coaching, organization of practice and competition, recruiting, scouting, compliance with college, conference and NCAA rules, and other duties as assigned. Ability to travel and work extended hours and weekends is required. The department is particularly interested in candidates who have experience working with students from diverse backgrounds.

QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor’s degree; previous playing or coaching experience is required; and must be able to positively interact with and support a culturally, ethnically, economically and socially diverse population of students, faculty and staff. Demonstrated ability to lead, develop and coach student-athletes at the scholastic or collegiate level is preferred.

REQUIRED HOURS: Weekend and evening work hours will be required. Travel will be required. Regular hours may vary due to needs of the Colleges or division. Must be willing to work extensive weekend and evening hours.

ADDITIONAL POSITION DETAILS: This is a temporary, part-time, non-exempt position. Starting pay rate: $16.50 per hour.
