Position Summary
|
This position involves a dual-role within the Division of Student Affairs and Athletics. The assistant coach responsibilities range from the planning, recruiting, coaching, developing, implementing, communication and administering of his/her program to achieve University and Department objectives to teaching duties within the Department of Athletics. Exhibit behavior that enhances the respect for the student-athletes, the athletics program, the University, and yourself in the conduct of your professional responsibilities.
The Champions Hall Fitness Center Coordinator responsibilities include coordinating and scheduling fitness center schedules including academic classes and athletic team lifts. The CHFC Coordinator supervises general student, faculty and staff, and community member fitness center use. Supervising and managing Fitness Center facility to include resources, operations, scheduling, and maintenance; training and supervising student staff; developing and implementing policies and procedures for the Fitness Center; possess knowledge of equipment usage, safety, proper maintenance, and repair of equipment.
Shift: 7:45am-4:30pm, Monday-Friday. Evening, weekend and varied hours will be required. This position works full-time for nine months out of the year and part-time (20 hours per week) the other three months of the year.

Required Qualifications
| - Minimum three years of hockey coaching, playing or related experience. - Fitness center management or related experience. | |

| - Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university - Demonstrated strong commitment to athletes as students - Demonstrated experience with: - Supporting students from diverse and multicultural backgrounds - Personnel Administration - Fundraising - Community Relations - Media Relations - Excellent interpersonal and communication skills |

This is a limited position, exempt from the Fair Labor Standards Act. Limited appointees serve at the pleasure of the appointing authority and are subject to Chapter UWS 15, Wisconsin Administrative Code, Wisconsin Statutes, Sections. 36.17, and UW System UPG #3.
