The Department of Intercollegiate Athletics has an outstanding opportunity for an Assistant Coach for Men’s Rowing to join their team.

This position reports to the Head Coach of Men’s Rowing and will assist in creating a positive student athlete experience in personal, academic, and rowing development and excellence, and enhancement of a positive team culture.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
• Coordinate and/or assist with the development of a plan for recruitment of prospective student athletes, evaluations, communications, database management, and relationships with club, high school and national team coaches. Set up official and unofficial visits. (50%)
• Organize and conduct coaching of assigned athletes during practices and competition. Develop training and conditioning programs for assigned student athletes. (25%)
• Prepare department reports and maintain records for Compliance and other oversight. (5%)
• Build and maintain positive relationships with faculty and staff on campus. (5%)
• Develop and carry out the “Beyond the Boat” Life Skills Program. (3.75%)
• Travel with the team, assist with supervision and/or logistics of team travel. (1.25%)
• Racing shell repair and maintenance, launch maintenance, course maintenance. (1.25%)
• Assist with producing media and marketing materials, social media, print media, post production video, and live streaming and assisting with media relations. (1.25%)
• Driving to training and competition sites (student athlete transport, trailer, etc.), and other duties as assigned. (1.25%)
Compliance with the rules and regulations of the University, the NCAA, the Pac-12 Conference, the State of Washington and any other governing body is of paramount importance to the University. The overall responsibility of this position is for the successful operation of the program in full compliance with all such rules and regulations. As a condition of employment, the Employee shall be required to participate in rules education programs offered by the Department of Intercollegiate Athletics.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Bachelor’s degree, successful competitive experience in rowing, and 2-3 years of coaching experience.
Equivalent education/experience will substitute for all minimum qualifications except when there are legal requirements, such as a license/certification/registration.
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS
• High level of technical rowing knowledge required.
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS
• Knowledge in biomechanics, physiology and strength training highly desired.
