The Assistant Coach of Men’s Soccer will be responsible for assisting the Head Coach in providing leadership and direction for a highly competitive
NCAA
(National Collegiate Athletic Association) Division I athletic soccer program. Specific duties will include but are not limited to:
Develop an environment that maintains and promotes academic excellence and upholds the standards of the University and the Athletic Department.
Create and maintain a positive, nurturing environment for student-athletes to advance their knowledge and skills, both athletically and personally.
Teach and mentor student-athletes to develop self-confidence and leadership abilities in pursuit of their goals.
Order and maintain equipment; develop travel itineraries/plan meals; coordinate practice times and gameday logistics with opponents; develop, track, and manage the team budget, etc.
Identify prospective student-athletes; maintain a recruiting database; and represent the University and Athletic Department at various functions and events.
Identify, develop, and implement specific coaching strategies and skill development techniques for consistent individual and group improvement.
Must meet physical requirements for the job, including the ability to participate in and lead strenuous physical activities.
This position requires hours outside of the typical workweek including regularly working nights and weekends.
Frequent overnight travel during the week and on weekends, monthly, throughout the year.
Prolonged periods of sitting and standing and frequently exposed to outside weather conditions.
Yearly completion of the
NCAA
compliance certification is required.
Incumbents must obtain
CPR
certification within 6 months of employment and maintain active certification throughout employment.
This is a restricted position subject to the continued availability of funding.

Faculty or Staff: 12 month
Bachelor’s degree or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
Significant or extensive professional-level experience or specialized expertise with Men’s Soccer.
Skills or competencies directly related to the sport through previous playing and/or coaching experience.
Goalkeeper training experience.
Ability to exercise independent judgment and discretion in the instruction and coaching of student-athletes and the ability to transfer technical and tactical knowledge of the sport of soccer through positive coaching and teaching methods, in individual and team instruction.
Demonstrated leadership skills gained through prior playing and/or coaching experience and the ability to lead small and large group discussions.
Strong organizational, written, and verbal communication skills.
Proficiency in a variety of software applications including Microsoft Office Suite 365.
This position requires maintaining up-to-date knowledge of and abiding by all Department, College,

NCAA
policies and procedures.
Master’s Degree in a field directly related to the position.
Collegiate-level playing and/or coaching experience.
Hybrid (works remotely at least 1 day per week but not full-time)
Remote work eligibility is not guaranteed and is subject to approval. Employee eligibility depends on the likelihood of the employee succeeding in a remote work arrangement and the supervisor’s ability to manage remote workers. Departments and/or Human Resources may amend, alter, change, delete, or modify eligibility.

All hiring rates are commensurate with relevant experience up to the advertised amount considering internal alignment.
This position has an established starting rate.
