The Assistant Coach, Men’s Soccer is a part-time hourly position which reports to the Head Coach, Men’s Soccer and is responsible with assisting the coaching and management of the men’s soccer program. The Assistant Coach, Men’s Soccer commits to teamwork, skill development,Westminster University is a member of the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA II) and the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference.
Primary Responsibilities
Assist the head coach with the recruitment and retention of qualified student athletes. Assist the head coach with administrative tasks as assigned. Assist with coaching during practices, games, and camps. Assist in planning and conducting effective and progressive training sessions. Assist with scouting of opponents and game video review with team. Organize and supervise practices and help plan team schedule and travel as assigned. Assist with the inventory and maintenance of apparel and equipment. Compliance with institutional, conference and national governing regulations. Required to provide and/or secure and maintain CPR, AED and First Aid Certification. Assist with fundraising and outreach efforts for program. Commitment to welfare and development of student athletes within the NCAA II philosophy. Work closely with other staff to promote intercollegiate athletics as an integral part of the college learning environment and support the academic success of student-athletes. Perform all responsibilities with the highest ethical standards consistent with the University’s mission, vision and values which include diversity, equity, and inclusion. Perform other duties as assigned. Schedule outside normal business hours some. This position will require some irregular work schedule including days, nights, weekends, and travel some.

Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in related field. Demonstrate record of success in coaching and recruiting student athletes at the collegiate level. Valid AED, CPR & First Aid certifications. Ability to work independently. Strong leadership, motivational and organizational skills. Effective interpersonal and public relation communication skills.
Ability to create a positive atmosphere conducive to learning. Ability to work in a team-oriented environment with high standards and goals. Commitment to high academic and professional standards.
