Assistant Men’s Soccer Coach will assist the Head Men’s Soccer coach in recruiting, training, developing and retaining athletically talented student-athletes to compete successfully against opponents, while ensuring the welfare of student-athletes

Strong communication (verbal and written) and interpersonal skills combined with the ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues and student-athletes having a range of backgrounds, interests and perspectives. A commitment to diversity and inclusiveness.
Master’s degree. Five year’s coaching experience at the Division I level. Collegiate soccer playing experience.

Coach will lead the development and maintenance of a strong alumni, parent and booster support for the team. The Assistant Coach will work with the team’s booster group and the UNH Foundation in an effort to increase annual contributions and scholarships for the team and the Athletics Department.

Encourage student-athletes to perform to their highest academic potential, monitor, advise and assist the academic progress of student-athletes toward degree requirements to remain eligible. Monitor the retention eligibility of student-athletes as it impacts the Men’s Soccer academic progress rate (APR) and Graduation Success Rate (GSR).

Pass the NCAA coaches certification test, attend all mandatory NCAA compliance meetings and maintain appropriate forms and documentation in office files to be reviewed upon request. Participate in athletic department meetings, represent the University on regional and national committees where appropriate. Represent the Head Coach he/she is unavailable.

Work with student-athletes to monitor adherence to rules and regulations regarding conduct, appearance and behavior. Provide individual counseling to student-athletes when appropriate and direct the student-athlete to professional staff when needed.

Serve as the main point of contact and administrator for the UNH boys’ soccer camps

Coach will represent the University on a high professional level with dignity, integrity, and strength of character. Coach must respect the rights and dignity of each student-athlete. Coach also must display sensitivity to diversity issues and shall work to create an inclusive and welcoming environment. Maintain competency with respect to knowledge of and compliance with state and federal laws, university policies/regulations, America East Conference and/or your sport’s conference rules/policies, and NCAA rules, and report to the Director of Athletics your knowledge of any violation of NCAA, conference and/or institutional rules.

Assist in training, developing and retaining athletically talented student-athletes to compete successfully against opponents while ensuring the welfare and safety of student-athletes. This includes assisting head coach in all aspects of practice preparation, pre-game strategies and in-game management. In charge of the team’s equipment ordering and inventory.

Assist head coach in all recruiting efforts to scout and evaluate quality student-athletes. Assistant coach will coordinate all recruiting activities with the head coach and appropriate department personnel. Report directly to head coach when identifying and building relationships with both domestic and international prospective student-athletes as well as all contacts.
