Assistant Men’s Volleyball Coach Long Island University (LIU) Brooklyn seeks a dedicated and enthusiastic Assistant Volleyball Coach to support the head coach in all aspects of the Men’s volleyball program. This position involves assisting with practice planning, player development, recruitment, and program administration, contributing to a competitive and positive team environment.
Key Responsibilities:
• Assist the head coach in organizing and conducting daily practices and training sessions.
• Help develop and implement game strategies and techniques.
• Support the recruitment of student-athletes, including scouting and evaluating talent.
• Provide individual and team coaching, focusing on skill development and performance improvement.
• Monitor the academic progress of student-athletes and promote a culture of academic excellence.
• Assist in game-day preparations, including warm-ups, strategy discussions, and post-game analysis.
• Collaborate with the head coach on scheduling, budget management, and travel arrangements.
• Utilize Excel for tracking player statistics, analyzing performance metrics, and managing budgets.
• Engage with the athletic department, alumni, and community to promote the volleyball program.
• Adhere to NCAA regulations and university policies.
Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree preferred.
• Previous playing and/or coaching experience at the collegiate level is highly desirable.
• Strong understanding of NCAA rules and regulations.
• Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to motivate and inspire student-athletes to achieve their personal and athletic goals.
• Commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion within the program.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel for data analysis and reporting.
